Note from Gillian: The Vision of Gratitude

As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, the excitement builds for time with family and friends, football, parades, and the wonderful feeling of having enjoyed a delicious feast and wishing that second slice of pumpkin pie had been smaller.

For all of us here at Christie & co, we will be sharing in these celebrations, but also in thoughtful memories of the recent loss of our gifted photographer, Scott Gibson, 54, who passed on November 12th of sudden heart failure.

Scott’s gift to catch the perfect image through his lens, and the perfect wave when surfing, his greatest passions, all while sharing a wonderful sense of humor and care, will truly be missed.

I met Scott over 25 years ago as I was just starting my company, and with his help we created award-winning packaging, client and team portraits and amazing aerial images, long before the drones. He shared with us every great business as well as family moment and was considered truly part of our family.

As stated by everyone at his memorial, each of us knew we were his best friend. His kindness encompassed his expertise always capturing the best. His mother had shared a letter Scott had written to her in 1984 that beautifully said that life is an adventure and he hoped to live all his days fully, however long that might be. Such a powerful reminder to live and love so fully. Scott, you truly are the vision of gratitude.

Yes, we are thankful this holiday, for having known and worked with Scott, sharing his laughter and compassion, his incredible sense of humor, for his being professional and so deeply gifted. We honor and celebrate the indelible mark he leaves on the world and each of our lives. He left too soon. He left without our thanking him a thousand times more than we ever have for all his good work and for his ability to see through his camera the good in all.

“When you rise in the morning, give thanks for the light, for your life, for your strength. Give thanks for your food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason to give thanks, the fault lies in yourself.” Tecumseh

At Christie & Co, we are thankful for the opportunity to help ethical people, like you, share your story and build your success. We are thankful for our team, our creativity and the freedom to appreciate all that is good in life. We are also grateful to share thanks together with you, this week and always.
