Doug Ellis previously served as the first Marketing Director for Esalen Institute, a beloved nonprofit known as the “grandmother of all retreat centers.” His Marketing and PR pedigree spans the educational, nonprofit and technology sectors, and continues to evolve through his digital marketing company, Dharma Communications.
A third-generation Colorado native, Doug brings an environmental sensibility to his projects and a warmth to his clients. He enjoys combining the latest project-tracking tools along with good old fashioned “soft” skills to make our marketing production journey a joyful one.
Doug has a gift for conveying the ineffable in words and pictures and has been a full-time professional photographer in Santa Barbara since 2014. His images have appeared in National Geographic, Spirituality & Health, Travel + Leisure, and the Today Show, among others.
He is passionate about bioenergetics and longevity, the interplay of thought and matter, and loves any kind of comeback story.
